Sacred Ground

Sacred Ground is a film-and-readings-based dialogue series developed by the Episcopal Church, launched in 2019 and used widely across the country. The 11-part series is built around a powerful online curriculum of documentary films and readings that focus on Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories as they intersect with European American histories.

The films and readings provide context for participants’ own storysharing of family history, economic class, and political and regional identity. Participants commit to an eleven-session cohort, which meets bi-weekly over a five month period. The Advocate has hosted three Sacred Ground circles to date, so many of our members have participated. The next circle is currently under consideration. Please contact Sarah Swann or Day Smith Pritchartt with any questions.
