Opportunity to Learn More about the Situation in Palestine

There is much for us to learn about the situation in Palestine, and in 2011, the Advocate will provide several opportunities for that learning here at home.

But one amazing program, for those who are able to participate, is Sabeel, the ecumenical Christian Palestinian liberation theology movement. It it organized and run by Naim Ateek, whom you may have seen in Bishop Curry’s “Please Note” interview a couple of weeks ago.

From February 23 through 23, 2011, Sabeel will hold its 8th international conference in Bethlehem, in the Occupied Territories.

The theme of the conference is “Challenging Empire: God, Faithfulness and Resistance.”

Cost of registration is $1,050, which includes meals and hotel room during the entire conference, which takes place at the Bethlehem Hotel.

For more information about the conference (including speakers), contact Tom Trueblood <trueblood.tom@gmail.com>, who will be attending the conference, or go on the Friends of Sabeel North America website, www.fosna.org.
