The Cloud of Unknowing and the Christian Contemplative Tradition
Join us March 20, 9am to 12:30pm, for a morning retreat centered around some of the writings of the anonymous author of The Cloud of Unknowing. We will enjoy sitting and walking meditation, with periods of guided meditation for beginners, and instructive talks. Our intention will be to learn from these texts to integrate contemplative disciplines into our ordinary lives. We welcome both experienced practitioners as well those who are new to contemplative practice. The retreat is open to people from any religious background or none. The morning is sponsored by the Episcopal Church of the Advocate and will be led Timothy Hinton, an experienced retreat leader and member of the Advocate.
The retreat will be held at the Chapel Hill Friends Meeting, Raleigh Road, Chapel Hill, in the Education Building to the immediate right of the Meeting House.
A $5 donation is requested to cover costs.
Registration is needed for planning purposes. To register, or to inquirer about further details, please email by Thursday evening March 18: spiritual@ouradvocate.org.
