Sunday February 7 will be a big day in the life of the Advocate.
First, it will be our last regularly scheduled liturgy at the Chapel Hill Kehillah, the synagogue where we have worshipped for the past five and a half years. Starting February 14, both our morning and evening liturgies will be held at the Unity Center for Peace on Seawell School Road.
Second, on February 7 the Advocate’s Annual Meeting will take place during and after the 5 PM liturgy. We will hear annual reports from the Vicar, the Senior Warden and the Treasurer, through which we will reflect on the ways we have worked to respond to God’s call in the year past and will seek to discern the path for the year ahead. We will also have updates on the Homestead Site and we will elect three new members to our Advocate Vestry.
Because of the significance of these events in the life of the Advocate community, all People of the Advocate, and all who are interested in learning more about the Advocate, are strongly encouraged to attend.
The meal following the liturgy will be an Advocate potluck — as you are able, please bring a generous vegetarian dish to share.
Child care will be provided during the liturgy of the word and during the Annual Meeting.
